Certification of documents
Certification of documents and translations by an embassy
Certification of documents or a translation of these documents by consular sections of foreign embassies is one of the phases of legalization procedure.
The final phase of the consular legalization procedure is certification by the embassy. Depending on the country, consular seal is affixed to the original of a legalized document or to the legalized translation of this document.
Embassies of certain countries may also certify copies of official documents. Thus, for example, the Spanish embassy certifies copies of international passports, and the German embassy affixes consular seal to copies of official Ukrainian documents.
